Carol
began her practice in 1985 what eventually became Nowka/Grimes
Financial, Inc of Grand Island, Nebraska, a fee-only
investment advisory firm with approximately $24 million
under management. She has been a Certified Financial
Planner Licensee since 1983. She earned her Bachelor's
degree from Hastings College and her Master's degree
from Central Michigan University. She is a member of
the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and a past
president of the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska.
This Association recently honored her as Member of the
Year. She has served as a committee member of the Pass/Fail
evaluation of the CFP® Exam for the CFP® Board of Examiners.
She has attended a six-day training in the Seven Stages
of Money Maturity by George Kinder, CFP, a process of
helping clients understand their feelings and development
around money issues. Carol also was instrumental in
helping George and others start a group called the Nazrudin
Project, a continuing discussion around the issues of
money in people's lives.
Carol currently serves on the Central Nebraska Goodwill
Foundation and the Community Human Resource Center (for
the homeless) and is a past Board member of the Grand
Island Area Chamber of Commerce.
Carol enjoys world travel and a good game of bridge.
